Election: 99 percent of seat win so far by ruling party in Tanzania


Mr magufuli party Chama Cha mapinduzi (CCM) is leading by more than 90% based on the results so far released by the country’s National electoral commission.
According to the results of the parliamentary elections, Tanzania ruling party has won 218 out of 220 parliamentary seats.
The Chama Cha mapinduzi (CCM) party’s main rival, Chedema party is trailing with just over 12% of the vote so far.

The main opponent Mr Lissu said the vote was not an election by both Tanzania and international laws so therefore he can not accept the results. He further stated that the ballot boxes were tampered with as his party’s agents were prevented from entering polling station during the election.
The US embassy described the opposite allegations as “Credible”. While as, head of the electoral commission, Semistodes kaijage dismissed the allegation, saying allegations of fake ballot papers were unsubstantiated.
